Al shabaab

Last twenty one yeas, Somalia has been suffering failed state. Since 2006, the country has faced an insurgency led by Al Shabab, one of Africa’s most fearsome militant Islamist groups. They controlled part of south Somalia. Islamist insurgents - including the Al-Shabab group, which later declared allegiance to al-Qaeda and in 2012 announced its merger with the global Islamist terrorist group - fought back against the government and Ethiopian forces, regaining control of most of southern Somalia by late 2008. They took numerous kidnappings to the war, and not only they kidnap children, but also pirate. Last few years, there were some kidnapping cases from Somalia on news. The backdrop this all played out against in 2011 was a punishing drought that caused famine, killed livestock, destroyed crops and displaced hundreds of thousands of people. Epidemics of cholera and measles then preyed on the malnourished and vulnerable populations huddled in camps. With the Shabab having withdrawn from the city in August, the only superpower left in the capital was the African Union, with 10,000 troops (soon to be 17,000), as well as tanks, artillery and armored personnel carriers chugging up and down the streets.

1.What is the role of the narrator in the story?
Jug of silver book cover
Narrator worked in a drugstore which is run by his uncle. Every body include his wife called him Mr. Marshall, so the little boy who the narrator called him in the same way. Narrator used to work in drugstore after school, and the store is in the Valhalla. Drugstore is kind of old fashioned, but there are some people still like to came into this store.

2.Why do you think that the author chose to tell the story from a young boy's point of view?
First of all, this boy is set as a person who knew everything about this store, and almost everything about his uncle. This kind of character could be symbolic as a real person in real life, because the story could following by your own experience and changing all the time. In this kind of situation the author could be the bystander, and telling the story. It's kind of easy, but also difficult because it's really easy to forget you are actually not the main character. In the first paragraph, it shows the boy is the narrator.

Five love languages

The result I got from Web

Your primary love language is probably
Quality Time
with a secondary love language being
Acts of Service.

Complete set of results

Quality Time:12
Acts of Service:8
Words of Affirmation:6
Physical Touch:4
Receiving Gifts:0

It's kind of amazing, because receiving Gifts is zero. I know I really don't like celebrate my birthday, but wow this is the first time I get to know who I really am. About my primary love language is not a big surprise to me. I prefer being with my friend, family or lover as much longer as I could. Gift is really not a big deal to me. Since I was about 8, I decided not to celebrate for my birthday, because I think birthday is not really important. I never told any body about my birthday. Probably that's why I don't get any point from receiving gifts.
I love hanging out with friends, even though I don't know some of them. Some people does not like to invite me to their event, because they think I am bored or I don't really talk to everyone. Even just being invited made me feel being part of the group. I really enjoy spending time with friends, even though sometimes I just like the air, an invisible man, silence as a dead man. I still love to hanging out with friends.
I'm not sure how I got my secondary love language being acts of service, because I don't really like people to help me or serve me, but I could totally told you why the second one is not words of affirmation. I'm this kind of person who doesn't like people talk too much. I think taking action is totally better than you just talk. I couldn't understand words of affirmation is a bit higher than physical touch, so don't ask me how I get this score.
